In 2006, my daughter, Becky was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. With consistent medical treatments, out-of-pocket expenses traveling hundreds of miles weekly for medical treatment we literally became financially destitute. Income from family members who were working was not enough to sustain us with this added financial obligation. Both myself and my ailing daughter had to quit our jobs to deal with this issue. Financially, we were depleted to the point that we would pick up cans alongside the road to cash in so that we could afford food and gas. There were no organizations or agencies that were able to assist us in our time of need stating I was able to work.
As time moved on, trying to find a way to bring in some income, I bought $20.00 of baby clothes to resell at a fruit stand my brother owned in town. This turned into individuals helping by donating baby clothes - with the clothes left, we started having a benefit yard sale which turned into more individuals in need than the supply we had. In September of 2009, advertising by word of mouth we would have baby clothes when we opened our doors that morning there were twenty people standing in line. Because of the need, we went through our own adult clothes, and we started having adult and baby clothes (bagged) giveaways four times a year. Because the need was so great in this county, we wanted to help more but just didn't know how or have the financial resources to do so. Around this time, I can remember asking the Lord if he would heal my daughter, I would dedicate myself to helping others as my destiny in life. We are now in our 12th year of service to those in need.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
